Thank you for visiting our Qtrac Knowledge Base library.

We hope the below article will assist you. Based on your questions, it looks like you are trying to use Columns per Queue as individual boxes on Qtrac Monitor. In this article we will explain in details all steps necessary to achieve this with a real Use Case scenario.

Use Case:

Imagine a multi-floor business that has different services on each floor. The business is wanting the monitor on each floor to only display customers that are for their respective services. By implementing the columns per queue monitor configuration, they can achieve this. Only those customers will be displayed on the floors monitor, and when a customer is called for service, the monitor announcement/text will only be generated on the respective floor. This helps avoid any confusion for if the customer being shown or called on the monitor is for correct the floor or not.

The following are the steps to configurate the Columns per Queue feature:

Login into your Qtrac Account.

Click "Manage" on top part of your page:

Click "Design" on the left side of your page:

Click “Monitor Templates”:

From here you can either create a new monitor template “Add New Template” or by clicking the edit icon to change an existing monitor template.

Once you are inside the monitor template, click the “Queue Type” dropdown and select the “Column per Queue” option:

Now we will need to select the box type and queues that will be assigned to this monitor.

We will start with selecting the queues that will be assigned to the monitor template. Whatever queues you select, only customers in those queues will be shown on the monitor. To select queues, click the “Select Queues” dropdown:

The ones highlighted in red indicates a selected queue and the ones highlighted in black indicates an available queue. If you like to remove a queue, you can simply click the “X” icon for the selected queue.

In our case, we are using the First, Fourth, and Sixth queues for our template.

Now we will need to select the box type that we want to use. There are two options: “Single Box” and “Multiple Boxes”. To select a box type, click the “Box Type” dropdown:

If you are using the “Single Box” option, the selected queues will be made as one box and will be shown as follows:

**Important note for “Single Box” configuration – the order in which you selected the queues will be reflected in columns from left to right. In our case, since we selected First Queue, Sixth Queue, and Fourth Queue in that order – they are shown in that order from left to right in the above screenshot.

If using the “Multiple Boxes” option, the selected queues will be their own box and can be moved around the designer as you want. When initially selected, all selected queues will be stacked on top of each other like this:

You will need to "unpack" the individual boxes simply by clicking and dragging of the individual boxes for each Queue. Once you have visibility for all selected queues, you can re-arrange the boxes to your preferred design:

Once you have selected your queues, box type, finished with the design are ready to use the template in execution, click “Publish:

You are now ready to use Columns per Queue configuration on your monitor!
