Custom Tabs allow administrators to add saved Queue View report URLs into a Queue View template so users can access those reports as tabs.
Permissions required:
Access to Insights and Queue View Templates
Important: Custom Tabs follow the user’s existing permissions. Users will only see data they are authorized to access, even if the original report includes other locations or broader data.
Before you begin
Before configuring Custom Tabs, make sure:
The report already exists in Queue View
The report has been saved with the desired filters and criteria
You have the custom URL for that saved report
Users who need access already have the correct report and location permissions
Configure a Custom Tab
Navigate to Queue View Templates by going to Manage and then click Queue View Templates:
Open the Queue View template you want to update.
Go to the section where Custom Tabs can be added and check the box to activate the feature.
Click on
The list of all pre-existing Insights Reports will appear. Select the one you want to use as Custom tab and enter a Tab Name.
Note: please know that the Tab Name will always be in Capital Letters in the Queue and also can not Add the Tab unless you provide Tab Name.Click Add Tab
You can repeat the same steps from points 4 and point 5 to add multiple Custom Tabs.
Once you have all the once you need added you can Save the Queue View template by Publishing it.
Open the Queue View to confirm the tab appears correctly.
Add multiple Custom Tabs
You can add multiple report URLs to the same Queue View template.
Each URL will appear as its own tab. If there are more tabs than can fit in the visible area, Queue View will display a plus (+) indicator showing the number of additional tabs.
Note: Please know when you are adding more than one Custom Tab, the order that they will be executed in Queue View is the same order as you add them. If you need to change the order completely you will need to remove them and re-add them again.
To remove them hover the mouse over the added Configured Tab and click on the Trash Icon
To rename the Tab Name you can click on the pencil icon
Permission requirements
Before publishing a Custom Tab to users, confirm that the intended users have access to the underlying report data.
Custom Tabs do not override permissions. A user will only see data for locations, properties, or report scopes already granted to their account.
Example:
If a report includes California data, but the user only has permission for New York, the Custom Tab will only display New York data for that user.
Report design recommendations
When creating reports for use in Custom Tabs:
Save the report with the exact time frame and filters users need
Use clear naming for each report
Keep the report purpose focused
Test the report using a user profile with limited permissions
Use chart reports for dashboard-style visibility
Use future bookings reports for upcoming reservation review
Important limitation
Custom Tabs display the report as saved. Users cannot fully edit the report configuration inside Queue View.
If you want to change the report’s time frame, fields, or criteria, update the report in the original instance, save it again, and then reopen it in Queue View.
Configuration tips
Keep the number of tabs manageable
Prioritize the most important reports first
Group similar reports together when possible
Verify permissions before rollout
Test both desktop layout and tab overflow behavior
