The Data Source Link allows you to directly access the raw data behind your Insights reports. This feature is widely used by customers who want to integrate their Qtrac data into external analytics tools most commonly Microsoft Power BI. By connecting the Data Source Link to Power BI or any BI tool of your choice, you can create custom dashboards, automate reporting, and visualize trends in real time.
Using the Data Source Link provides several key benefits:
Real-time data access for deeper analysis.
Easy integration with third-party tools, especially Power BI.
Consistent data format, perfect for building custom metrics and tracking KPIs.
No manual exports the link provides data on demand.
In this article, we will show you how easy it is to export an Insight as a Data Source URL that can be shared with your team.
Before you begin, make sure you have already created your Insight Report. Once your Insight is ready, simply follow the steps listed below. After the Data Source URL is generated, you can copy and paste it into your browser or share it with your team for analysis, integrations, or reporting.
Step 1: Go to Insights in your Qtrac portal.
Step 2: Hover your mouse over the three dots next to the Insights Report you want to use as a data source.
Step 3: From the pop-up or dropdown menu that appears, click on Data Source.
Step 4: A pop-up will appear showing the full Data Source URL. Click Copy to copy the link.
Step 5: Close the pop up and Paste the URL into a new browser window to view the data.
Note: Please be aware that different browsers show the data in a different way. For example Chrome shows the data like this example:
